Balance and Motion

In science, students are using the scientific process to write experiments like real scientists do.  Already students have learned how to pose a question, write a hypothesis, list materials and complete a procedure.  Their first experiment involves balancing a crayfish cutout.

Balance a crayfish cutout on your finger.
Add clothespins for weight.

Find the balance point.

Make it stable.

Trial and error.

Adjust the clothespins.

Is there more than one way/

Success!

The extra weight of the clothespins add stability.

The weight is below the balance point.

Our write up.
