Criança do Mundo - Col.

Healthy Sleep Habits
Parents know that sleep is an essential part of child development.  Of course, when children don’t get enough sleep, they might be crabby but they are also more accident prone, have trouble remembering and focusing, and their bodies even have a harder time responding to bacteria or infections!  Make sure your child is getting enough rest by checking out these recommendations and tips.

News from the Library
Congratulations to all of our participants in the Reading World Cup! 98 students and staff completed the challenge this year. Bronze and silver medals will be presented in classrooms on Friday and recognized at The Nest next Monday. Gold medals will be presented at The Nest. Our celebration ice cream party will be held Sept. 5 at 2:30.

Be sure to bookmark our LS Library Website on your devices for easy access to the library catalog, eBooks, databases, and book recommendations, as well as access to numerous magazines for yourselves. Stop by our table in the Student Center during Back to School Night to see how to use Flipster to read things like Time, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, National Geographic and Yoga Journal.

Children After School
Just a reminder that children who do not take the bus are to be picked up promptly after school. If the child remains on campus, they must be directly supervised by an adult. If not with an adult, they may go to the Lower School Library or the Lower School Office where there is supervision until 4:00 pm.

3rd-Grade Field Trip

Dear Families,

São Paulo is a city with great diversity. From the people to its architecture and outdoor centers, it has a lot to offer. To celebrate our Social Studies Migration unit, we are excited to go out and immerse ourselves in the Museu da Imigração Japonesa on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

We will leave Graded at 7:45 am sharp. Students should be in their classrooms by 7:30 am. On this day, students do not need to bring their backpacks to school and may bring a snack for the bus ride. We will return to school in time for students to take the 2:35 pm bus home.
The program includes transportation, lunch at Hong Re, a tour of the museum with local guides, as well as monitors from Terra Nativa, plus the Graded team of teachers.  Please note that this will be a non-refundable charge on your tuition bill.

Kindly sign the Portuguese version of the contract and send a copy of your child’s ID (RG, RNE or Birth Certificate) no later than Thursday, August 29.

As always, we thank you for your support.
