News from the Library
Create Bravely! Keeping the Inspiration Going!

Our students had such an amazing and inspirational time with Peter H. Reynolds, and so did many of our parents. Peter spoke at a parent coffee about how necessary the qualities he describes in his book are - things like empathy, creativity, bravery, balance, patience. He also challenged the parents there (and I pass this challenge on to all of you) to create and play WITH their children. Have a family art gallery with your work features, as well, as you model taking risks!

Peter ALSO had a wonderful, inspirational time, and sent this letter to share with all of you. If you haven't already, please take a look at the wonderful photos of his visit, with more added this week by the talented Angela Park.

Lower School Update - November 4, 2019

Kindness
The Core Value we are focusing on for November and December is kindness. Here is a video to help get the conversation started at home. We will celebrate Kindness Week starting on November 11 with a range of activities. Please encourage your child to perform “random acts of kindness!”

Thanksgiving Celebration
Please join us on Saturday, November 9 for our Annual Thanksgiving event. Lots of fun activities will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Eagle’s Nest
As you know, we have been announcing shoutouts and Golden G during our weekly Eagle’s Nest. The Lower School has decided to move shoutouts into the classroom in order to recognize the core values in an authentic, meaningful and timely way. In addition, any “above and beyond” behaviors will be recognized in the Eagle’s Nest. We know that this change will give more effective feedback to students and help inspire our whole community.

News from the Library
We had a truly joy-filled, inspirational week with Peter H. Reynolds. He worked with students and parents to tap into their creativity. The expressions on the children's (and adult's) faces really say it all. Please click here to enjoy the pictures from his amazing visit. Remember to "Make Your Mark!"
