Holiday Home Learning

Holiday Home Learning

Thank you for your hard work and support during distance learning! You and you children deserve a break! However, to maintain your child's well earned progress, here are some suggestions.

Language

The center of home learning is daily reading, at least 30 minutes per day.  The expectation for students is that the maintain this habit over the holiday.  Tumblebooks, RAZ Kids and the Library website provide ample resources for home reading.

Writing about your holiday experiences and thoughts is a great way to practice language skills. Also, students have become very adept at using Google Slides to create interesting presentations.

You could also create a quarantine diary. Printable pages can be found HERE or you can use these pages as inspiration for your child to create his/her own pages.

Math
You are welcome to continue using the Eureka Succeed books to practice and consolidate math learning. Also, your child can continue using Khan Academy, Zearn and XtraMath.

A variety of screen free ideas can be found HERE as well

Thank you again for all your help and support. We wish you all the best in Grade 4. Be safe, be well and be happy!

Take care,
The Grade 3 Team
