Numbers all Around!

Part of our Everyday Math unit has been exploring all the different places we see and use numbers. Once we started brainstorming all the ways that we used numbers, we just couldn't stop. We came up with some extremely creative daily usages of numbers! A few of the ways we brainstormed that we use numbers on a daily basis are: in elevators, addresses, cooking, and knowing what size shoes to buy. To make a point, we investigated what would happen if we didn't have shoe sizes:

The results were obvious (and hilarious)! If we didn't have shoe sizes we would definitely have a hard time walking!

Another very important way we use numbers is phone numbers. We discussed emergency phone numbers we should all know. A few of us have our mom's and/or dad's number memorized by heart, which is amazing! However, not everyone is so sure. Please help us memorize your phone numbers in case we ever have an emergency and need to get in contact with you right away.
