Halloween and More! ~2B

Everything seems to about Halloween these day!
Kids are really getting in the spirit by decorating the room, graphing about their favorite Halloween candy, and writing their opinion about their best costume.
Thank you to the moms who planned, organized, and helped us with Halloween crafts!
We had a blast!

Making spider webs is spooky, but so fun too!

...creating "monster" bags to fill with candy!

Scary AND fun!

...getting creative and inspired!

I hope your monster doesn't eat all the candy in that bag!

Halloween Parade
The parade will begin at 2:10 p.m. on the field on Thursday, November 1st.

The school encourages children to dress in fantasy costumes that are creative and fun, but discourage violent and horror costumes. First through Fifth grade students should bring costumes to change into at school in the afternoon. 2B students will change after PE. Please make sure your child is able to dress themselves mostly with minimal support from teachers if possible. Also, please talk with your child about Living Responsibly and putting their other clothes away into their backpacks when changed.

Our afternoon parade will take place on the field this year. All Graded Students will be present and parents are welcome to watch from the stands if they would like. Lower School students will start the parade and complete a lap around the field. The students will then walk to their classroom where they will have a party. All parents are welcome to join classroom parties! If you are taking your child home after the party, please ensure the classroom teacher is aware.
Below is a map of the parade route:

This map shows the route and where parents will sit this year while the kids are walking in the parade.

Student Led Conference Reflections and Goals
Thank you to all of our families for participating in this important milestone in their child's education this year.  These conferences really give children a sense of pride. Also, it is an excellent opportunity for them to share their learning and make important goals for next steps.  As promised, I have made copies of the reflection/goal sheets and sent them home on Monday, Oct. 29.  Please use these as a tool to help your child reflect throughout trimester 2 on the goals that were set.  You can connect it to the Eagle Way and "Living Responsibly."  Please feel free to add more and revisit them often.  Thank you for your support!

Kindness Week
The week of Nov. 5 is our schoolwide kindness week and LS students will have daily challenges, similar to last year.  I will inform students and families soon of the special activities to expect.  In the meantime, you can work to do and notice random acts of kindness in your life at home and in your community.  Encourage your child to share with their class.
