Stone Soup

After reading the book Stone Soup, students acted out the story by making their own version of stone soup.  Students brought in vegetables to add to the soup.  This is a great story about generosity and sharing.  In the classroom, it was an exercise in being positive and trying new things.  Most students declared it was the best soup ever and they gobbled up several bowls!

Let's read Stone Soup.

Add the veggies to the pot.

Add the cabbage.

Add the carrots.

Chop, chop!

Add those potatoes.

Chopping veggies is hard work

Keep chopping!

Pour it in!

Small pieces.

The soup is simmering.

Chop the broccoli.

Mmmmm potatoes.

You can never have enough carrots.

Making soup is fun!

Making soup is hard work!
Let's write about how to make stone soup while we wait!
