Upcoming Events in 2A

Dear 2A Parents,

April will be an exciting month for our second graders with many special events!  Please find more information below with ways parents and families can help in bold.

April 16th - Rube Goldberg Machine Day

On this day the 2A students will do a special project with balance and motion by creating a Rube Goldberg machine in groups.  We are looking for families to send in all sizes of boxes, any type of paper rolls or tube/ramp like materials, toilet paper rolls, dominoes, bottles and containers for us to use to create our machines. In addition, we are looking for parent volunteers to help with the machine building from 8:30 - 11 and 1:30 - 3:00. If you are able to help with one or both of these times please let me know.

April 17th - Easter Egg Hunt

On this day we will have our traditional Grade Two Easter Egg Hunt.  We are asking for small chocolate Easter egg donations, like in the photo below.

This activity will be math based, as we will estimate how many eggs we have total before our egg hunt, and afterwards we will answer fraction questions about the eggs and compute how many eggs each child gets to bring home if we share them in equal groups.  If you are able to donate eggs please send them in by Tuesday, April 16th.

April 18th - Field Trip to Toca da Raposa

Our field trip to Toca da Raposa has been rescheduled for April 18th.  Please remember to send your child's original ID to school on April 17th so we are ready to go on the 18th.  The buses will leave promptly at 8:30, so it is important that your child is to school on time on this day.

April 26th - Community A Learning Assembly

Our fourth and final Community A Assembly presentation will be focused around skills the students have learned in library class.  The assembly will take place from 8:15 - 8:55 on April 26th in the auditorium.

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Best wishes,
Jessie
