Reading
|
We will read "to learn" biographies by determining the main idea and details. The class will analyze the chronology of biographies using a timeline, identify cause and effect relationships between subjects and historical events and use context to confirm or self-correct word recognition and understanding, rereading as necessary.

Writing
|
Students will draft their persuasive 5-paragraph essays. They will introduce the topic they are writing about, state an opinion, and create an organizational structure that lists reasons. Students will share their writing with peers and practice giving thoughtful feedback.

Math
|
The class will continue their work on fractions. They will add to their understanding by looking at unit fractions and their relations to the whole. They will begin comparing unit fractions and specifying the whole.
|
Science
|
Students will inquire into the question: what is a changemaker? They will also consider the difference between rights and responsibilities.
|
Portuguese
|
PAL: Students will talk about their weekends, and work on routine verbs, using the song “Pequeno Cidadão”. They will also read a book on Elefante Letrado on Friday, and make a padlet post about their favorite book on Elefante Letrado.

PE: PE virtual project - Create your own game and post a video on flipgrid (1st assessment), workouts, jump rope challenge (collect plastic bags or socks to make your own jump rope - if you do not have one).
