Mr. Maykut: The Power of 10

The Power of 10 helps students visualize numbers and gain a better number sense.  Today students played War, an adding game.  The game will eventually become more complex but the focus will always involve visualizing a ten.

Taking turns.

Having fun win or lose.

Adding ten.

Using ten frames.

Learning through games.

Being a good sport is important.

Counting up your total in the end.

Being accurate and efficient is key.
