2D: Sorting Rocks

Sorting rocks is easy if you have the right tools.  Without mesh screens it would take forever to sort sand, pebbles and gravel! With screens, it takes less than a minute!

Students were given a cup of rocks.

They had a minute to sort them.

Three piles of rocks...

Sand, gravel and pebbles.

Sorting them using mesh screens was easy!

Thinking which screen to use was important.

Pebbles are larger than gravel.

Gravel is larger than sand.

Mission accomplished!
